Dear Valued Patient,
I am writing to inform you of an important change to my practice. Effective October 1, 2026, I will be transitioning to a 100% telemedicine (virtual) practice. This change will allow me to continue providing the same high-quality psychiatric care you have come to expect while offering greater flexibility, accessibility, and convenience.
Beginning October 1, all appointments will be conducted through our secure, HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform, Doxy.me. There is no software to download or account to create. At the time of your appointment, simply visit www.BendPsychiatry.com and click on the link to my virtual waiting room. You will be seen at your scheduled appointment time just as you would during an in-office visit.
Please be assured that this transition will not affect the quality or continuity of your care. Our office will continue to be available by phone for scheduling, prescription refill requests, and other patient support. The front desk for the time being will be an AI receptionist, but we believe this will result in more efficient and timely responses than our old methods.
Medication management will continue through telemedicine, including prescriptions for controlled substances when medically appropriate and permitted under current federal and Oregon state regulations. Prescriptions will continue to be sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy, and every effort will be made to ensure there is no interruption in your treatment.
Updated Billing & Payment Policy
To streamline our billing process and reduce the need for paper statements, we will also be implementing an updated payment policy effective October 1, 2026.
A valid credit or debit card will be required to remain securely on file for all patients.
This policy helps us reduce administrative costs, improve efficiency, and spend more time focused on patient care while minimizing delays in billing.
If You Prefer In-Person Care
Many patients find virtual psychiatric care to be convenient, private, and effective. However, I understand that telemedicine may not be the right fit for everyone. If you prefer to continue your psychiatric care with an in-person provider, I fully support that decision.
While I cannot guarantee acceptance into another practice, the following local providers offer in-person appointments and may be options to consider:
Should you choose to establish care elsewhere, we will gladly provide a copy of your medical records to your new provider upon receipt of the appropriate authorization to help ensure a smooth transition of your care.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in me and for allowing me to be a part of your healthcare journey. I remain committed to providing compassionate, personalized, and accessible psychiatric care through this new telemedicine model.
If you have any questions about these changes or need assistance preparing for your virtual appointments, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We are here to help make this transition as smooth as possible.
I look forward to continuing to care for you.
Warm regards,
Anthony Monteverdi, MD
